Last Autumn in between lockdowns I spent 2 days filming some short videos of wine regions in Occitanie. It was the idea of Sébastien du Boullay , the Promotions Manager of the Maison de la Région and the venue was an excellent wine bar/bistro called Cépages in Notting Hill in west London.
This vast wine area stretches from the Rhone Delta down to the Spanish border and then westwards to within around 100km of Bordeaux. The plan was to start with 10 different regions and to film a personal insight around 5-10 minutes of each. In fact we filmed 11 in this first tranche as Lirac was added at the last minute to the original list of mostly Languedoc/Roussillon and SW France AOC’s.
The result is 11 short videos which are already on the Occitanie Wine School You Tube channel and will also be appearing on this website over the coming days.
All were filmed in one take so any stumbles or repetition are entirely genuine. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did presenting them. A big thank you to all at the Maison to Loïc Lefrileux for the production, Cépages for hosting and to the suppliers for the wines.
