This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the principal wines of the world and their commercial importance in the global market. It provides an in-depth study of the main wine regions and develops a more analytical approach to wine tasting.Ideal for the experienced wine professional or the serious wine enthusiast. Students must have passed WSET Level 2 or demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge to attend this course.

WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines
This is the flagship qualification of the WSET and a pre-requisite for the Master of Wine study programme. There are 2 locations in France to study for this qualification, Esprits de Vins in Macon and WiSP, formerly Bordeaux Wine Campus. Matthew Stubbs MW is a Certified Educator for both these centres.

WSET Online Courses
Vinécole offers the option to do WSET courses online for those who prefer the flexibility and ability to study at their own pace and in their own time.
Each course has a set start and finish date with clear instruction on how to progress. Students can complete their learning at a time that suits them.
Throughout the programme students will have access to Matthew Stubbs MW your personal tutor and specialist educator who will provide feedback on the course content and exercises.
The exams are not online, students will be required to attend the examination in person. The exam date and location will be specified at time of enrolment.
Samples are not included in the cost of an online course with the exception of one classroom tutored tasting session which will be offered on the day of the exam.
WSET Level 4 Online Tutorials
PRACTICAL
Improve your WSET L4 practical paper exam technique with personal feedback. Taste and write notes on 3 wines based on the WSET L4 SAT. This can be done blind, open or as a dry note exercise if students unable to buy the wines for the sessions. Designed for small groups, 4-6 WSET L4 students.
One theme will be covered in each tutorial based on Level 4, D3 practical exam :
- Common grape variety
- Same country
- Same region
- Mixed bag
Sessions on Sparkling and Fortified wines will also be offered at a later date. Timing/Content : 1 hour 30 minutes. 30 minutes for tasting and 1 hour feedback.
THEORY
Create a model essay plan for a typical L4, D3 theory question in timed conditions with feedback.
This tutorial will provide the basis and instruction for writing a model Level 4, D3 essay. Timing/Content : 1 hour. 15 minutes to write essay plan and 45 minutes feedback session
Sud de France Master Level Programme
The only certified course on wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon. An intensive 2 day programme covering all the wine styles and Appellations of the region written and presented by Matthew Stubbs MW.
Aimed at students who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of the wines of this exciting region.
Some general wine knowledge, ideally WSET L2, would be beneficial for this course.

MW Practical Online Tutorials
Fine tune your MW practical paper exam technique with personal feedback from a former MW Examiner in a 90 minute online tutorial. Two themes will be covered in each session from a variety of questions that appear in the MW practical exam :
- Grape Variety/Origin
- Quality/Maturity
- Style/Commercial Potential
- Winemaking/Ageing
These tutorials are aimed at small groups of 4 to 6 MW students to enable meaningful feedback for each participant.
Three wines are presented in each session which can be tasted blind or open. Alternatively this can be completed as a dry note exercise as detailed technical notes are provided for each wine.
Master of Wine Practical Tasting Weekend
A full weekend of blind tasting and exam tuition run by Matthew Stubbs MW, a former Practical Examiner. All three MW practical papers covered under exam conditions with comprehensive feedback sessions offering invaluable advice on exam technique.
Places are limited so early booking is advised.
Aimed at students on the MW programme and those preparing for the MW exam.
Private Tuition
Individual tuition for those who prefer one to one or small group sessions either face to face or via Skype / Zoom. Matthew will provide expert advice and preparation for both WSET L4 and MW exams.
